Frequently Asked Questions
When it comes to taking care of your teeth and your family’s dental options, how much do you really know? If you’re like most of our patients, you probably have at least a few questions, and we’re more than happy to answer them. To get started, we’ve compiled some of the most common questions we hear every day along with their answers below. And, if you want to know something that you can’t find on this page, you can always give our team a call.
When should I visit the dentist?
We recommend getting at least two checkups and cleanings each year to help prevent the most common dental problems. And, if you’re experiencing any kind of dental issue, whether it be a cavity or swollen gums, we suggest giving us a call right away. The earlier we’re able to treat something, the easier, faster, and less expensive it will probably be.
When should I schedule my child’s first dental appointment?
Your child should see a dentist as soon as their first tooth appears or no later than their first birthday—whichever comes first! This will give us the chance to make sure that their teeth and jaws are developing correctly, and when they turn 3, we’ll begin giving them regular checkups and cleanings similar to your own.
How long does it take to repair a decayed/broken tooth?
This answer will be different for every patient depending on their specific situation, but in most cases, we can repair a tooth in just one appointment using either a tooth-colored filling or CEREC dental crown. However, if a tooth requires another treatment like root canal therapy before it can safely receive a restoration, then the process may require two appointments.
Can you help with a dental emergency?
Yes! If you’re experiencing a severe toothache or your teeth have been badly damaged in an accident, go ahead and give us a call. We’ll schedule a same-day appointment so we can get you out of pain and repair your smile right away.
I don’t like how my smile looks…can you help?
Yes! With cosmetic dentistry, we can take care of bothersome stains, chips, cracks, and gaps to give our patients truly flawless smiles. We can change the shape, size, and color of your teeth to whatever you want, giving you a gorgeous and confident smile in just one or two easy appointments.
Is there an option other than metal braces for straightening my teeth?
Yes, and it’s called Invisalign. Instead of using brackets and wires to move the teeth, a patient just has to wear a series of custom-made clear plastic aligner trays. No one will notice you’re wearing them because they are so discreet looking, and you can even take them out whenever it’s time to eat or brush your teeth.
Will you accept my insurance?
Yes, we are in-network with several major PPO dental insurance providers. Our team is very familiar with the ins and outs of all kinds of plans, so you can trust that we’ll be able to maximize your benefits at every visit. Give us a call today to learn how we can use your specific plan.
Is there a way I can finance my dental care?
Yes. Patients interested in breaking up the cost of their care can sign up for a flexible payment plan with CareCredit. There is a link to it right on our website on our New Patients page. With just a few clicks, you can sign up for a low-to-no interest plan that is perfectly suited for your budget.
